Try Reducing Hair Loss with Ayurvedic Medicine

by DoItYourself Staff

When a natural solution is required to a condition or ailment, many will turn to ayurvedic medicine to find a cure. Ayurveda, literally 'Science of Life,' allows for natural remedies, rather than the reliance on pharmaceutical drugs. There are a range of issues that can affect the hair, with many having a solution provided by ayurveda including hair loss.

Hair Structure

Each hair on the human head grows from its own follicle and, on average, there are 100,000 of them covering the scalp. In view of this, the 70 to 100 hairs that it is normal to lose every day can easily go unnoticed, not least because these hairs are naturally replaced. It only becomes a problem when the number of hairs lost increases and the body fails to replace them as it normally should.

Causes

There are a number of causes of hair loss and ayurvedic medicine can provide a solution for all of them. Rather than it simply being an issue of age, there are several factors that can affect people of all ages and all walks of life, such as stress, illness, poor diet, lack of sleep and overuse of chemicals. Being aware of the potential cause of the problem can help to determine what type of ayurvedic medicine is necessary to cure it.

Scalp

An unhealthy scalp can lead to hair loss as it is an indicator of poor general health, which can be improved by avurvedic medicine. When this is the case, it is important to get all the vitamins and nutrients that the body needs. Irritation of the scalp that results in itching can be caused by smoking, excessive caffeine, consumption of a significant amount of food that is greasy, spicy or acidic. Hormonal imbalances and poor circulation can also be a factor.

In addition to regular exercise to improve the circulation and help of the body, the scalp should be regularly massaged to stimulate the sebaceous glands, which lubricate the hair. There are a number of treatments that can be applied, such as applying coconut oil combined with lime juice. The diet of the sufferer must also be high in protein, fruit, dairy and plenty of green leafy vegetables.

Hair Loss

Ayurvedic medicine can be sought for hair loss, which can be caused by anything from stress to age. This can be a rapid process or can occur slowly. Remedying this problem must start with avoiding any chemical processes that are usually applied to the hair. Apply coconut or almond oil to the hair and massage it into the scalp for up to 10 minutes a day. Neem leaves can be boiled in water and left to cool before it is strained. This solution can then be applied to the hair before it is rinsed with water. Drinking a mixture of lettuce juice and spinach juice can encourage hair growth. Undertaking exercise like yoga to aid ib relaxation can help to keep the body healthy.
