Unclog Your Bathroom Sink Drain With Natural Products

If you want to unclog your bathroom sink drain without using harsh chemicals, here are some hints for you.

Remove the Trap

Many clogged and slow drains in a bathroom sink can be repaired by removing the sink trap from under the sink drain.

The trap is the curved part of the drain, and it usually has threaded joints at either side of it. This section of pipe is made to “trap” materials so they don’t go into the plumbing system.

Use the proper pipe wrench and remove the trap. Clean it out thoroughly, then replace it. This may do the trick itself.

Boil It Out

If cleaning the trap doesn’t work, try this natural remedy.  Pour one cup of baking soda and one cup of salt into the drain. Have one quart of boiling water ready, and pour it into the drain after the dry material.

Repeat this process. This method works on many types of clogs.

Washing Soda
If baking soda is not effective after using it twice, then try the washing soda method. Washing soda is more alkaline than baking soda, and it may break up more clogs. Pour a cup of washing soda down the drain, let it settle, then add the baking soda, salt, and boiling water again. This will clear most clogs.
