Understanding Basic Security Systems
Many alarm companies offer basic security systems at little or no cost to the homeowner for installation. The security devices included in most basic setups are the control keypad, a door monitor and two motion detectors. This setup is enough security for only basic security and will not cover if windows or secondary doors are opened.
How to Operate the Alarm System
Most alarm systems work with the pinching in of a PIN code in order to turn the alarm off or on. If your security system is being monitored by a security company, they will inform you or the police if there is an unauthorized user or person in your home.
How the Devices Work
The basic devices are simple in their use. The door monitor is two magnetic pieces and when the magnetic bond is broken then a signal is sent to the control panel signaling that it is time to punch in the code. The motion sensors sense motion in a light or dark room and, if the alarm is set, will trigger a warning to the alarm company and in most cases set off an audible alarm.
Basic security systems are easy to understand and operate. The installer of the unit can also help you with any questions you may have on your particular unit.
