Uninstalling A Gas Washer Dryer
Uninstalling your gas washer dryer and moving it out of your home will require a bit of care and planning. There are some things that you should make sure you have on hand to do the job well.
Make sure that you have a dolly to move the machine out of the space that it is currently installed. These machines can be very heavy and you should not attempt to move them on your own.
Turn off the Gas
Before you disconnect the machine from the wall or remove the hose, you should shut off the gas to the machine. Just as you would turn the power off of an electric appliance before you began working on it, you should turn off the gas source before working on a gas appliance.
Remove the hose and store it in the dryer so that you will have it on hand when you set the dryer up in a new location.
Washer Shut Off
Turn the water off that is going into the unit and turn it on in the washer for a few seconds to release the pressure in the hoses. Drain the water out of the machine and then turn it off completely.
Disconnect the drain hoses and input hoses from the back of the machine and disconnect it from the power source. These items can be taped to the back of the washer until they are needed again.
