Uses for Oil Diffusers

by DoItYourself Staff

Oil diffusers add gentle and soft aromas and fragrances to the air. Using oil diffusers give you the flexibility to change the air scent according to your preferences or needs. Oil diffusers are appealing to your sense of smell. The diffuser is a small mechanism that releases essential oils. It can also be used as a natural type of air purifier. Oil diffusers come in many different types. They can even be made at home. There are different uses for oil diffusers. The most common are listed below.

Using an Oil Diffuser for Aromatherapy

Oil diffusers are used to assist in aromatherapy, the act of balancing your mind, body and spirit using essential oils. In aromatherapy, an electric oil diffuser is used. It uses the cold air which is pumped through a glass nebulizer to keep your therapeutic oils intact. The diffuser releases oil in a fine mist which cleans the air that you breathe. The oil diffuser filters in the air you breathe and neutralizes odors. By breathing in clean air, your lungs stay healthy and the room smells wonderful at the same time.

Using an Oil Diffuser to Help Remedy Acute Bronchitis

Bronchitis is what is referred to as an inflammation of the bronchial lining in the lungs. It can be caused by mold, bacteria, smoke from cigarettes and chemical particles. Bronchitis can turn into an infection quickly if it is not treated. Amazingly, an oil diffuser can be used throughout the day by cleansing and diffusing the air with a special blend of healthy oils. There is a special oil called Respiratory Conditions that can be used in this diffuser with peppermint, lemon and lavender. In less than a week, the oil diffuser can treat acute bronchitis by releasing these oils into the air, leaving no more signs of acute bronchitis.

Using an Oil Diffuser to Create a Green Household

The properties of essential oils are antifungal, antibacterial and antiviral. Using an oil diffuser not only helps combine these oils together, but it releases them slowly into the air bit by bit. By using a diffuser for these oils, you are cleansing your home and atmosphere of mold, dust, and bacteria without all of the harmful cleaning products. Imagine being able to clean your home without inducing watery eyes nausea or wheezing from the chemicals that other products contain.

Using an Oil Diffuser for Sore Throat

An oil diffuser can be used to help relieve sore throat. One of the most effective oil blends for flu and cold protection in the winter season is called Thieves Oil. It is a blend of cinnamon, clove, rosemary, eucalyptus and lemon oils. It not only supports your digestive system but it helps to strengthen your immune system. Using an oil diffuser, apply one drop and diffuse the blend for 15 minutes approximately every 3 ½ hours or so. The oil diffuses and acts like a vapor (in a way similar to Vicks). As your diffuser diffuses this oil blend, it neutralizes the air with healthy oils to help keep bacteria from infecting sore throat.
