Uses of an Aluminum Electrical Conduit
Aluminum electrical conduit is uses type of piping to protect the electrical wires contained within. The actual material of electrical conduit can be many different materials including aluminum. Much of the conduit that you see in residential and commercial applications is installed by a professional electrician, but it can be installed by the homeowner.
Food Processing Plants
Aluminum conduit works best in food processing plants because this type of plant needs to have conduit run that is relatively resistant to corrosion. Since there are many chemicals and lots of water involved in food processing plants, the conduit used along the plant must resist corrosion from the moisture.
Embedded in Concrete
Aluminum conduit may be used inside of concrete areas or full runs only if it has been coated with a material that will prevent the build up of corrosion that usually occurs within and around concrete.
Outside Air Conditioner
If your air conditioning condenser is outside, aluminum conduit will be used to protect the wires going from the house to the AC unit.
Pool Pump
As with the outside AC unit, if you are looking to install an outside pool, you will need to install aluminum electrical conduit to protect the wires for the pool pump.
