Utility Closet: Organization Advice

A sound utility closet will contain a lot of the things that can be used in a home and are within arms reach. Things like cleaners, plastic bags, brooms, vacuum cleaners, and other household items are kept in a utility closet.

Bags

Depending on where you shop you could have either plastic or paper shopping bags in your home. These bags are useful to keep around, but storing them can be a hassle. A plastic bag hanger can be hung from the door of a hook in the closet. Paper bags should be folded up and slipped in a corner or to use as a liner for the shelves until needed.

Cleaning Products
There are different varieties of cleaning products. Paper towels, rags, buckets, mops, brooms, sponges, vacuums, scouring pads, and other items are all contained within a utility closet. There are several holders, rings, and hooks that can be used to neatly organize these cleaning products.

Cans of polish and spray bottles can be neatly arranged on a shelf while mops and brooms can be hung from the door or wall. Paper towel holder keeps your towels clean while a box can keep all your rags in one place.

Step Stool
A step stool in invaluable in a house and can be hung on the door or a fold up version can be kept on the floor under the shelves.

Keeping things organized in your utility closet will help you find them easily and let you know how much of something you have.
