What is the best way to protect laminate wood furniture from damage?

by DoItYourself Staff

Protecting your laminate wood furniture from damage is not difficult. Using coasters will protect the surface of the furniture from water damage. Desk pads will prevent scratches caused by using the piece of furniture as a writing surface. Installing a glass top to the piece of furniture will protect the surface but should include placing felt pads or bumpers between the glass and the wood. Attaching felt pads to the bottom of equipment and accessories can help to prevent scratches and dents as well. Never use wax cleaning products, such as Pledge furniture polish, as they will leave a cloudy film behind. Use a damp cloth for cleaning instead. Glass cleaner may also be used.
