What type of tv wall mount bracket should I use for a brick wall fireplace?

by DoItYourself Staff

There are two mounting systems for a HD TV wall mount bracket. The first is probably the most stable for drywall. It is a sleeve-type anchor where you put a hole in the wallboard and then insert the sleeve anchor. When you remove the center screw, you can line up the brackets on the back of the TV and hand-tighten the anchor screw on both sides. You may have to level out the TV a bit using a level and shims.

The second system is best for use in concrete. It is a hammer-in concrete screw that tightens up on the wall half of the TV bracket.
