Which is more efficient for a mobile home: electric furnace or gas furnace?

Both mobile home electric furnace and gas furnace are equally as efficient assuming you are making an equal comparison. The more expensive the furnace, the more efficient it is therefore you can be adding a few extra hundred dollars onto either a gas or electric furnace to go from eighty percent efficiency up to ninety percent efficiency. Other factors to consider are that electric furnaces are cheaper to install, but more expensive to run, therefore you need to decide whether this is for the short term or longer term. If it is long term then go with the gas furnace, although it has higher initial costs, gas charges are cheaper on a per unit basis.
