Why should I install an aftermarket cold air intake?

by DoItYourself Staff

Your cold air intake determines the type of performance that your car will deliver. To deliver maximum performance, the fuel-air charge that's picked up by the manifold system must be as dense as possible and the best way to ensure that is a good cold-air intake system, especially one that uses unequal length runners so that the fuel-air charge remains cold as long as possible, but also has an intercooler built-in as part of the intake system that helps the fuel-air charge remain dense as long as possible.
