Now, if you look back down on the lower left side here. There are series of buttons and options that all have to do with what we currently seeing, not only on the views but in the composition viewer itself.

But if you go up to the upper right hand side of the entire viewer here, you will see a small flyer menu. You can go down there and choose the view options. Just as a side note there.

You also have access to the composition settings, the same thing we have seen earlier on by pressing Command K. But we are going to up and choose View Options and you will a series of check boxes that are all currently turned on. whether we are viewing handles on motion parts.

Can we see masks do we have control over the effects? Do we see key frames? Do we see motion parts? Do we have certain wide frame properties turn on, on that kind of thing.

Basically, this is a way to turn on and off a large set of options if you need to. But really most of these things we can see here are actually address individually in the buttons across the bottom of the window. So, I just wanted to point that out so you know where it is but we are going to cancel out that and come down and use these instead.

Now, you have already seen the preview sizes going on here. The next icon across, this is slightly change from previous versions of after effects as well. Normally, clicking on this will give you access to what is called the "Title".

And action safe areas which shows certain guidelines on screen for way you should position your actions to ensure that it does not sort of bled off screen when playback through broadcast. That this now behave slightly differently.

Eventhough the icons suggests that is more base around safe areas, clicking on it, now it actually gives you access to different things. You now bring up as well as the title safe areas the proportional grids, the main grids, the guides, and the rulers. So, you can pull this up at any time.

Now just as a point of interest, if we go ahead and select title action safe which is scroll this out of the way. You can that after effects has created a series of lines around the outside of the shop which are basically defining as you can see in the lower left hand side here, title save and action save. If I zoom out on this, you can see how that effects the entire composition.

The by turning it on in this few, it has an automatically applied it to the other views. That is not the default state but it can be. We are going to do is come back here, turn off the title action safe with just one second and then come down to the view options.

Where we access our four views and you will see a final selection there called ‘Share View Options". If you turn that on, then any changes you make to the view options in one view will automatically update in the other four.

So, if we come back over here and instead of activating title safe areas this time, that is maybe applied the proportional grid. You will see the that grid appears in all four comps at the same time. We can go back and turn this off as well.

Let us come over and maybe turned on guides and you can see that they do appear in all the comps. It is actually four guides preset inside this one for you. But if you go down there as well, you can also turn on the rulers and you will see the rulers appear on the left and upper side of each one of these views.

And if you wish to add more guides you can quite simply drag from either of these rulers out the across into this screen and the guides would appear inside or four views at the same time.

Now, we are not going to use rulers at this point. We do not need to generate anymore guides. So, we can actually hide the rulers by pressing "Command R" or "Ctrl+R" on the PC and you will notice that it does it individually per composition. So, you will almost sort of backtracking their and telling it to do separate things.

So, if you wish too, you can click in to each one of these compositions and press "Command R" or "Ctrl+R". But do not forget, you can always come back down here and turn the options on or off as well. So,
Now, if you look back down on the lower left side here. There are series of buttons and options that all have to do with what we currently seeing, not only on the views but in the composition viewer itself. But if you go up to the upper right hand side... click to read more
