Okay, so let us go ahead and close the glyphs palette for now and we will switch back to the layout view, we will zoom out and fit everything in view with fit page and window from the view menu here. I am going to delete one of those extra ornaments but we do want to show some invisible characters. This is a great place to look at this because we have several line breaks here.

So, what we should do is going to the type menu, at the very bottom of the menu, there is a command called show hidden characters. Click that option to enable it and you will also notice here in the command bar at the top of the screen, there is a quick button to hide or reveal hidden characters,

Now, if we grab our zoom tool and zoom in on this, you will see that we have all of our hidden characters available to us including spaces, paragraph breaks, tabs and so on. So if you are not sure of this there is space between words or something missing, just go ahead and turn on those hidden characters just like you would in a word processor and you can see all the neat details of your text.

So, let us go to the view menu one more time, choose fit paging window from the view menu and I want it to zoom in on a specific piece of text and show you one last little feature related to editing text that embarrassingly enough, I find it very handy. I am going to select the type tool and insert that between two characters.

So, I have to admit--well, I am a decent speller, I am a terrible type of. I make a lot of mistakes. So with that in mind InCopy has a transpose feature. Go to your edit menu and you have a transpose command. There is also a keyboard shortcut for this which on a Macintosh is command option four and on the windows platform it will be control alt four. You can either use the menu command or invoke to keyboard shortcut and that will just switch the two letters that your cursor is currently positioned between.

So, if I do that on a keyboard again, command option four or control alt four on windows. I do that several times, it will just flap those numbers back and forth.

So this is great for mix up numbers or common spelling mistakes.
