Advanced Dreamweaver 8 - How to Customize Your Favorite Objects
Video Transcript
One last thing I would like to do to customize Dreamweaver is to change my insert panel and create a favorites option. Now, when you choose favorites, you can right click and customize your objects. Simply choose customize favorites and now, I can choose any of the options from any of the insert menus to put in my favorites list so that it would be handy as I am working.
So, as you go through the rest of the lessons with me, you are going to notice that I have a collection of favorites up there that make it more efficient for me to work. And just so you are with me and you can follow along while I am doing it, I want to make sure you set them this way too. So, I like to have hyperlink over here, email link. I am probably not going to use named anchors in this series, so, I am going to skip that one. But if you like creating jump links, you might want to keep that.

Scrolling down here, I also like to keep flash handy although we would not do much of that in this training. I do like to have the flash button there and just a couple of last things in the layout option. I want to be able to draw layers, create layout tables, layout cells and I think that will do it for this one. We are not going to worry about forms at this point, click okay and now, you have a collection of all your favorite tools in one place.
I really believe that part of having design control is having all the tools you need at your fingertips and having plenty of room to create your designs. So, never forget that you can move things around and change things in Dreamweaver. You can always close panels when you are not using them. Open them backup when you need them. More than anything, I want you to make Dreamweaver yours and do not forget, web design does not have to be so frustrating that you want to bang your head on the keyboard. You can make Dreamweaver your favorite tool.
