Hey! Good morning! I brought you up here to the AskTheBuilder World Headquarters roof and I will tell you why. Well, it is early spring here and yesterday guess what happened? I got to meet and he was standing right here on the roof with me, the inventor of this really cool gutter protection system.

And what makes it different is that it got this really fine mesh. And why that is important is because what I found in all the years that I have been testing gutter guard products is that in the spring, that is when gutter protection systems fail because of all the small debris that the trees produce like seeds, and blossoms, and all that little pieces of bark, and they will just clog up other gutter-protection systems and actually get into your gutter. So I test these gutter guards all the time and I want to show you right now the first one that I ever install.

Okay! Here it is. Check out this one. These gutter guards have been in for about eight or nine years. It is a plastic one. It has got those holes in it and it allowed me to shoot water from my garden hose through the holes to flash the tiny debris out of the gutter. But I found that this particular gutter guard, those hose will get clogged up with the little helicopter seeds and all that lacy blossoms from my oak tree. So, I am going to take this gutter guard out today and let me show you what I am going to test in its place.

It is crazy as it sounds, this is a gutter guard. I talked to the inventor about this one, he insisted that I test it and to me it looks like a big pipe cleaner. You know like a pipe cleaner for a giant. I mean, look at that thing. He says that you just put it down in the gutter and when it clogs up, which it will, you supposedly pull it out and you just shake it and all the debris comes out of it.

I have heard claims like that before. I am a little skeptical, but you know what, we are going to find out in about four or five weeks once all the leaves come out and all the debris has fallen out of the trees. So check back, I am going to have another video that shows exactly what these gutter guards look like after the tree debris falls down in the spring here at AskTheBuilder.
