When working on a home improvement project, sometimes you feel like you are in a marathon because you are gone from the project back to the garage or the basement to grab more tools and bring it back to the project site, I have been there many times. Second of all, if you are ever in that situation where you spilled that paint or grease on the flooring and you have that panic attack. You have to run to grab a rag and clean up real quick, again, I have been there a lot of times as well.

Hi, I am Mark Donavon from HomeAdditionPlus.com. Today, I am going to show you a few tips on how to prepare before working on a project before you actually begin it.

First, give yourself some room to work. Clear out any objects in the general work area where you are going to be working. Second, put a drop cloth down in the area that you are going to work. Third, anticipate all the tools you will need for the project and have them at hands reach so you do not have to run a marathon in parallel while working on the project. Next, have a rag handy to wipe your hands or to clean up the small mess quickly. Finally, if you are working on a mechanical or electrical project, make sure you take some pictures ahead of time so that if you have any issues reassembling, you can reference the pictures.

So with just these few basic home improvement preparation tips, your project should be able to go much smoother and quicker, and feel like you have not run a marathon or taking an exam in the process.
