Hey everybody, this week Indy Mogul sponsored by Death Race in theatres August 22nd.
As all of you probably know information on making a Lightsaber on the associated blade effect are all over the internet and considering all these existing information I thought why try to reinvent the wheel. So we are working of some awesome plans that I have found on the net but adding our own style of course.
In my opinion, the best lightsaber designs could be found at the bigyellowbox and I say plans because they have eight different designs, detailed instructions, pictures, and shopping lists. I am going to go at the modified version of style 2. So here is what I have to buy: First stuff, three chrome plated slip joint extension tubes. One that is 12 inches long and one with a quarter-inch diameter, one that is 12 inches with 1-1/2 inch diameter and one that is 6 inches long with 1-1/2 inch diameter. A strip of black vinyl rubber, one nylon slip joint, one rubber slip joint, two rubber O-rings, and miscellaneous hardware.

Female: If you are familiar with the death race, the drivers are convicts and the rules are simple.
Male1: "It is kill or be killed."
Male2: I can see the uphill.
Female: Win and get your freedom.
Male2: Let us try a little law first.
Male1: You are out in front. Quit on the shoot out. I love this game.
Male2; You can burn me, you can shoot me, but you cannot kill me!
There you go, starts August 22nd.
This build is all about cutting our three pipes with a rotary tool. I use the bunch of cutting wheels and this grinding bat. The first step is to take the 6-inch pipe and cut off the threads then cut the opposite ends so that the total lengths is about 3-2/8 inches. Now make some paper cut outs according to this dimensions and tape them evenly across the tapered end of this piece.
I am getting ready to cut the ammeter housing thing and it is probably be the most difficult part of the bell. Basically, I took little stencils and tape them on and then I just highlight it with the stencils on the tape. So now I am going to cut it then clean up the edges with your grinding bat. This is the meter housing. Next, take the 12-inch pipe with the one in one quarter inch diameter and grind of the threads then cut off the other ends so that the total length is 11-1/8 inches. Next, take the last pipe and cut off the threads then cut the other ends so that the length of this piece is 6 inches. Now you can use a template like this one to cut out the chunk of the pipe. Now you have three tubes, the main handle, the ammeter, and the grip. You will have to wrap the inside of the ammeter and grip tubes with the black vinyl then slide them over the main handle. I use some petroleum jelly to help slide this one. Leave some space between the ammeter and the guard as well as two O-rings and a nylon slip joint. Add a rubber slip joint to the bottom and some finishing touches and you are done.
Okay it is 3:30, we just finish the lightsaber. I ended up using the same material as the guard for the ammeter vent right here and I simplified the bottom. We got this shower handle and at the start it looked two, like a bulbous , to actually just pop up the center and glued it on there. It is kind of, it has a cool light like translucent, sort of like battery look, belt hook, activator button, and then an adjustment. Something is really cool about this lightsaber is that it is hollow on the inside. So that when it is on your belt, I knew this is just like to halt and it is good to go but if you want to actually fight with it and take a big dowl that fits snugly inside it and you can use the stick as a reference in doing a computer magic. So I am going to get some sleep. I am pretty happy with it. It is a really kind of like sleek, everyone like to actually wear this home but people might freak out on the subway.
So you are probably asking yourself, hey, what good is this handle thing do without the awesome glowing beam effect?" Well the guys at VideoCopilot are here tohelp us all out. Check out our blog for links to an awesome video tutorial and a pitch in after effects presets.
Thank you VideoCopilot.
During the preproduction of the original Star Wars film and intrepid special effects man named Marvin Kaufman actually created a REAL working lightsaber.
In a disastrous accident, an extra was killed and the use of the working lightsaber was forbidden. The studios denied it's existence and its prototype disappeared along with its creator.
Some 40 years later, Eric Beck is on Earth, the lost lightsaber plans on eBay and has completed his own version of the deivce.
Finish!
I am going to rob a bank with this.
Male1: Install my blueprints and you built in abomination.
Erick: What are you talking about old man? I pimp this to get you out.
Male1: Now I got to kill you.
Erick: Brown out.
What did happen?
Male1: Hold that up, hold that up first.
Erick: Oh, come on it does not even it is like light I guess. Better to see when cut through a person, now they do.
