After the chef's knife, a cutting board is probably the most to use kitchen tool in the home.
Hi, I'm Chef Jason Hill and today I have just a few tips for you about cutting boards, they are the most common use cutting board in the commercial kitchen and in the home just like this one made of hard plastic. This plastic cutting board may be a little bit harder on the knife's blade than the traditional wood cutting boards, but they are a lot more sanitary. The traditional wood cutting boards have a porous surface which can trap harmful bacteria that are present in some foods. Here's one more tip about using this plastic cutting boards, you may find that this plastic cutting boards tend to slide around on your work surface. To alleviate this problem, just place two wet paper towels underneath your cutting board, set the cutting board back down and this secures to work surface. I like using this plastic cutting boards because they're very sanitary, but they're also affordable, easy to clean and easy to store. Thanks for watching.
