Okay. So what we are going to do now is make a really quick scene index. I am going to show you how light and fast you can do this with Encore. This is the video thumbnail that we are using. And let us say that we want to put three of these thumbnails on this page. Now, I just want to suggest, before you start making thumbnails or duplicating them, you want to make sure you specified all the properties from this thumbnail before you start duplicating it. Now, the only thing that I have not done is link this to something but this thumbnail already has a highlight. It's got text and it's got its video thumbnail. So when I duplicate it which I am going to do in a moment, it is going to have the same properties. Also, what is important about this is that it is a chapter type. So, when I showed you in chapter two how easy it was to create a scene index simply by going to menu and going to create chapter index, that is what Encore looks for in order to make custom chapter indexes.

So now that we have our chapter button ready to go, I am going to get my selection tool by pressing V on my keyboard. I am going to hold my alt key down and you see, there is a double mouse cursor. That means that I am going to duplicate this button when I click and drag off. So I am going to click, drag to the middle, here is my second button and I will just take this one. You can drag to the third one. I was holding the alt key down the whole time. And by the way, that is an option on your Mac. I will let it go now. That is what I wanted. I will click down. And just like that, we have the buttons for a scene index.

Now, they might not be perfectly in position although eyeballing this, it looks pretty good. What I am going to do is get my selection tool by pressing V, it is already selected. I am going to select all of my buttons and I am going to show you a neat feature and that is in the object options. I will go over here, the object. And what I am going to do is align this at the top. This will line up the top coordinates of my buttons. And if you noticed, there was a slight shift.

Next thing that I want to do is go back to my object and I am going to distribute these horizontally so that they all have an even space between them and you will notice that there was a slight shift in the middle button.

Now I will take it—because this middle notch here is not lined up with the middle time safe. I will grab all of them simply by clicking and move it to the right a little bit. And, I have three buttons uniformly aligned and that is all I need to make a chapter index. Now, Encore will recognize this. And when I go to automated chapter index, it will take these three buttons and references chapter markers to those buttons.

Let us talk about text in a button. Each one of these thumbnail buttons has one text layer in it. You will notice down here in the layers panel. There is the group, there is the one-text layer, there is the group, there is the one-text layer. I cannot add an extra text layer here to these buttons. But if I took this in Photoshop and added more text layers to this buttons, when I use the set name from link option, it is going to affect all the text layers in that button group. And if you wanted to format your text, that is what this character panel up here in the top right is for. It is in the top right on your default workspace. And here is where you have your font attributes. In this bar here, you have your font styles. Here is your alignment options. And, here is your anti-aliasing. If you have Asian text, select it in your font. There would also be some options down here.
