How to Design an Ocean Themed Bedroom
Video Transcript
Hi! I am Molly Finkelstein and I am here to tell you a little bit about different ways to decorate children's rooms. One of my first steps would be not to make it too babyish or too femmy because we do want it to last for quite a few years. But now, we are going to talk about some theme in bedrooms. And the first thing that we are going to talk about is an ocean theme. I say you want to project that look, I would say, think of the color of the water and you could go to a nice deep blue, you could go to probably what I would pick would be a real pretty aqua blue. I would echo that with a rag similar in color. I would probably use white bedding in an ocean theme room. There are always kinds of ways you can echo that feeling whether it was a collection of coral or a collection of shells, you could have prints of seaweeds or shells or fish. You could do curtains out of silk cloth. You could do a mirror that looks like a port hole. You could just add things that will give you a little longevity. So, instead of making it too cute, I would say keep it so that even a grown up would like the aspects of the ocean that were in that bedroom and I think that way it will grow with you and your child. So, ahoy!
