If you want to change the look of a house and make it go from a newer home to an older home, all you really have to do is deal with the woodwork. In fact the people who own this particular home, they want to take the traditional woodwork off the openings and make it look into like a more older Victorian type home.

Now, what do you need to do that? It is pretty simple. First you start by taking off the woodwork, all you need for that is just take a regular hammer, a pry bay, and gently pull off the woodwork from the walls and now you are ready to go.

Now, what kind of parts do you need to make it look old? Pretty simple, I like to use the old base blocks and then the casing sits on top of that then what you do is go ahead and put a bead across the top of the casing. You then put a header and then there are these special really neat crown moldings that fit on top of the head of the door or the window whatever it might be.

Now, you go ahead and put all those together and it is going to look really, really sharp. Now, where do you find this specially woodwork? Did you know you can get it custom made, any look that you want. Here is what you do. Open up the yellow pages, look under woodworking and you will find a variety of places in the tristate area that can make custom woodwork just like this. Yes, I will tell you what, it is that simple. All we have got to do now is fill these nail holes up, give it a coat of paint and this house is going to look like an old Victorian.
