In this lesson, we are going to be taking a look at how to include text in your Flash Movie Files. I want to help you to the process of getting a font installed that we provide it for you in the lesson files.

Now first of all, you will find this file in the Lesson Five folder of part one of your project files and there you can see a Fonts Folder. And these two fonts we are looking at had been provided by photospin.com. They were created by Larabie Fonts. We got a Neuropol font and a Neuropolitical font which is kind of a bold version and both of these fonts that have a nice futuristic look. Now on the Macintosh, all we need to do is go into the font folder itself. We will find the TTF file for our font and you can just double click and there you get a nice preview of what the font looks like. You should be able to just click and install fonts and it will pop right into your system for UST user. Now, I will just go back and install the other font as well. I will back up to the font's folder. I will double click on the neuropolitical font folder. We will do the same thing, double click and there we can see a nice preview of that font. You can see that is just a kind bold version of the previous one. I want to install that font as well.

Now, you will need to restart your flash application to see the new fonts. You might even need to restart your operating system but you should have those fonts available for your Flash Movie Files. Now, let us go take a look at how to install them on a PC. Now over here on the PC, the fonts are going to be on the same place were in our project files folder. I will go into Part One in Lesson Five and there is our Font Folder. So, we got the same things. We got our font here and all we need to do is put it into the system font's folder. Now, you can find that from your start menu, I am just going to click on Control Panels here and there is a link right to our Fonts Folder. So, I am going to double click that and there you can see all of our fonts. All I need to do is drag this font into this folder and it will install.

Now, I have already got mine installed but make sure you go and drag the second font in as well and you are ready to go. Once again, make sure you restart your flash app and you may or may not need to restart of your system as well. Now, if you have any trouble, you can refer back to the read me file that you find in the launch pad when you first start up the training series. I am just going to switch back over the Flash and we close up these two windows. I already got flash appear running. If you would like to check to see if those fonts are installed correctly, you should be able to go right to the text tool and you should see those fonts under N appearing with the rest of the fonts you have installed in your system. If you are not seeing the fonts, you can try restarting your app or your operating system. Do not forget the Read Me File that you can find in the launch pad page. When we get to the point in the lesson where we are choosing fonts, you can actually choose any font you like and you should be able to work with the lesson without any problems.
