Hey, guys welcome back to decorate yourself with the weather so fantastic these days. We are going to start nesting outdoors. Fellow Nestors Kiwe and Jfrederiksen and YouTube for NalaniProductions all ask about backyard and patio. After a relaxing weekend outdoors, visiting Wills, fantastic family we came back wanting the DIY this great, great canvas of the backyard we have and make our own DIY Planter.

First, find some remnant pieces of wood and make your base or bottom of the planter. I had to attach two pieces of wood together to make my base.

Then you will need two pieces of wood that are the same size to be your sides so use a handsaw to make your pieces fit. Use a hammer and nails or even better an electric drill to attach the first side. Start with one screw in the middle. One on either corner and few in between. Once both of your side are secure cut and attach your end pieces. You might need to use a handsaw to make your end pieces fit in between the two sides and your bottom. Drill and a screw here, here, and here. Pick some metal braces at your local hardware store and attach this to your corners. Now prime your planter. Pick a nice relaxing color and paint it. add some organic soil and plants.

You have constructed your own DIY Planter. But we are going to sit here and enjoy the nice weather but we will be right back.

Female: Ouch! This dress will never get made.

Male: Looks like you are making a dress.

Female: Yes, it is not going very well.

Male: Oh! You needed some Dragon Magic.

Female: Dragon Magic sounds great.

Male: Here we go.

Female: My dress!

Male: Sorry.

And here are the Jones's is. These are the box. They have little deck here but we have our party too. On our canal, at our homemade fire pit as you can see we are trying. We just do not know where to start. If you could please help us, we would appreciate it.

Some other elements we have brought into the backyard are some colorful chairs to sit on. An old tree stump for a table and some more planters with flowers in them. We had two old grills that are no longer work so I took some screen from my future father-in-law and cut a piece to fit on the bottom. It holds the soil and plants in place and yet allows for water drainage. We have bought this bamboo screen at a local hardware store. It access a partition between our yard and our neighbor's yard. All of these elements create a nice relaxing private patio where we can hangout all summer. Over on the forums our friend Timidgothica gave us some cool tips as to where we can find seats for our garden.

StarintheSky 112 took hundreds dad backyard chairs and reupholstered them herself. She save money and made a family product out of it. Bravo StarintheSky. This week's quick tip. You know the dreads of the coffee that you never end up finishing, well some plants love that acidity and it actually helps them grow so research the plants that you have and see if it is safe to water them with it. Thanks for joining us this week at décor at yourself. The deadline for the toolbox contest is June 13th so get nesting, start shooting and send it on into us. Remember styles starts at home.
