Jam number five is play over the same F sharp minor group that we have been playing over for jams three and four. We are going heavily on the F sharp minor blues scale this time so let us check it out first.

Jam number five only has two runs. These runs use the F sharp minor blues scale but we are going to use that blues scale in a three note per string pattern. So, the first run sounds like this.

So, we are going to start of on the F sharp note 9th fret of the A string play 9-12-14, ten on the D, 14 of the ten of the D, 11 to 14. Now, to the G string 11-14-16 to the B string 13-17, 13-14-17. Now, to the high E string 12-14-17, 14-12, E string 14, back to the high E string 14-12. Now to the B string 14-13, 17-14-13, G string 14, B string 14, G string 14-11. So, once again here is the entire run.

The second run in this jam also uses the F sharp minor blues scale three notes per string. We are phrasing that with 16th note triplets or six notes per every one bit so it is a little quicker than the first run. So, once again, here is what the second run will sound like.

So, this run start of on the root note F sharp found in the 9th fret of the A string. We are going to play 9-12-14 on the A, 10 on the D, 14-12 on A. There are our first six notes. Okay, now back to the A string 9-12-14, 10-11-14 on the D. So far we have done this.

Now, we are going to do a similar pattern but now we are going to start off on the D string. So here we are going to play 10-11-14 on the D, 11 on the G 14-11 on the D. Now, we are going to play 10-11-14 on the D, 11-14-16 on the G. Now, the G string 11-14-16, B string 13, 16-14 on the G, 11-14-16 o the G, 13-14-17 on the B. Now, we are going to repeat 13-14-17 on the B, 14-13, 14 on the G. Now, we are going to play 14-13 on the B string, 14 on the G, 11-14-16 on the G and we end the whole run but playing the 11th fret of the G string twice. That note is our root note F sharp.

All right and that it is for jam number five.
