Let us go over some general rules for Tee-ball games.
Tee-ball follows all the basic regulations of baseball or softball but does have a few unique exceptions.
Obviously in Tee-ball, there is no pitcher. The ball is hit off the top of the batting T.
There are no strike outs in Tee-ball. If the player misses the ball with there swing, have them continue to swing until they make contact and hit the playable ball. And obviously since there is no pitching, there will be no fouls. Therefore, no bases on balls are allowed.
Keep in mind that intentional bunting and intentional path swings are not allowed in Tee ball.
There is no base stilling in Tee-ball. Base runners must remain on the base until the ball is hit. After the ball is hit, they can proceed to the next base.
A ball is considered fair or playable as long as it is hit pass the ten-foot foul ball arch shown here.
If the ball do not go pass the ten-foot foul ball arch, place the ball back on Tee and have the player continue to hit until he hits playable ball.
If the ball roles pass first or third base and then goes in to the foul area, it is still considered a fair and playable ball.
Playing line is an imaginary line running between first base and third base. It can also be an arch or a curve circle extending out 40 feet from the point of home play as it is shown here.
For safety, no player can cross the playing line until the ball is hit.
Batters must be careful not to throw the bat. This is a common occurrence with the Tee ball players.
Players that throws the bat in a dangerous manner should be called out but make sure that you explain to them the reason why they are being called out. Throwing the bat in danger the safety of all the players on the field.
Due to the fact that young Tee ball players do not posses the most accurate throwing arms, base runners are only allowed one extra base on over throws.
Two players cannot be on the same base at the same time. This is a common occurrence with young base runners.
Should this occur the first runner that arrived on the base is safe and the second runner can be tagged out.
A good suggestion is to make sure that players know which base to run to after they have hit the ball. A lot of times you will see young Tee ball players hit the ball and then run directly after the ball maybe towards second and third base.
While the players up at bat, make sure he or she knows which base they need to run to after the ball is hit.
