Now, we have got our layout imported into the program. Let us preserve it so that we can use it for multiple flash movies. What we are going to do next is save this as a template file. Now, this is very easy, I can just go write up to the file menu and we can choose save as template. Now, we are going to give our template a name. So, I am going to call this one robot content, and we can also give it a category.

Now, the program has several preset categories of templates to choose from, but I can make my own category. I am going to call this TT for total training and we will just call it layout. You can even add a description if you like. We will type in here—use this to layout the robot flash site. Now, when we click save, this file will be saved with the other templates inside of our flash application folder. Now you can see the title of our document, reflects that template title we made. So this profile is actually our template that we have created. Now to use the template, I am going to create a homepage by going up to the file menu, choosing new and this time instead of selecting from the general new documents, I am going to switch over to the template side.

Now, here we can see all the categories of templates that are pre-build into the program, but at the bottom of the list, you can see our category that we just made, TT layout. When I click on it, there is our robot content template. We can see our description and a little preview of what is the template look like, and when I click ‘okay', I have created a new untitled document but this document has a whole bunch of layers, full of graphics. Let me pull over our screen here and zoom out a little bit. You can see that we have a copy of what we just saved into that template file.

And we will use this one to build up our homepage. So let us save this file right of a bit and we will just save that document as robots_home. And now we have used our template to create a unique homepage and we are ready to add some content.
