Today's segment of Growing Wisdom, something many of your gardeners know if you grow things like Bee Balm and Phlox, you get that Powdery Mildew all over your plants and that does not look that good and we are going to look at some tall Phlox here. Take a look at this, you can see all of the mildew growing on the leaves and I have been treating things but none the less I have a little bit. Couple of things you can do to protect from this, one is do not water the leaves specially at night, you want to keep them as dry as possible and the humid weather, you can also treat with the couple of products Serenade Garden Disease Control works pretty good as well as soap shield which is a Flowable Liquid Cooper Fungicide they are both organic as well and they will do a pretty good job taking care of the Powdery Mildew on your plants.
They other plant they get to this Bee Balm and I have been treating my Bee Balm and take a look, this is not look like I have many of the mildew yet so that is good and we will continue to treat that throughout the season. The reality of the mildew do is really does not hurt the plant too much, it is just unsightly and once the flowers come out to it, just does not looks that great. But if you do get it and you do not have time to treat, do not worry, your plants will come back next year and you will have the chance to treat at that time. Come back often every week, we update our tips at least 2, sometimes 3 week here at growingwisdom.com.
