How to do Hit Deep to Win in Tennis
Video Transcript
Hit Deep to Win
Now let's move to a deep groundstroke drill with a nice rule variation. To set up the court for this drill you need to create a horizontal line between the baseline and the service line on each side of the net with either a rope or throw down lines. Each player keeps his or her own individual score with continuous out loud counting and one point is scored each ball that lands in the deep target area. If the ball lands short, there is not penalty, but if the point is won on a deep shot, it scores double for the player who hit it. Play first to win 25 or 50 points and adjust the size of the deep area to challenge the level of player's competing.
