How to do a 180-Degree Return in Tennis

180-degree Return
This next exercise is definitely a creative way to get players to improve their reflexes and reactions for the return of serve as well as to shorten any oversized back swings. It goes like this.
Have the receiving player on the baseline start facing the back fence. Then, as soon as he or she hears the server contact the ball, they turn and hit the return. Sounds simple, try it to find out for sure. After returning the ball, play a regular series of games. This game-based drill also works well for doubles. The only rule adjustment you may want to consider is, to give the server just one serve, since the receiver may need a little extra time to make the turn before the hit.
