Invader Part 2:

Speaker 1: I was in Kathmandu a few months ago to invade the City of Kathmandu. And there I met a lot of Tibetan people who were in exile in Kathmandu. Then I felt sympathy for these people and I wanted to make a tribute to Tibetan people by making a portrait of the Dalai Lama. The interesting point of this piece is that it is a Rubix Cubist portrait. It is a portrait made with Rubix Cubes and they are Chinese Rubix Cubes. It is a funny confrontation and at the same time it is a kind of peace message. It is the beginning of reconciliation between the Tibetan people and the Chinese people.

Speaker 2: Do you take the Rubix Cube and you manipulate it to find the find the right pattern or do you actually like take it apart and make your pattern and put it back together?

Speaker 1: No for sure, I make a sketch first and when I have the result I want, I begin to twist. The point is that Chinese cubes are made with plastic, and not stickers.

Speaker 2; That is the big difference?

Speaker 1: Yes. The object looks nicer I think and I cannot cheat. I cannot take the stickers off. It would take more time to take off each sticker and put them on again then twisting the cube. Now I am very at ease with Rubix cube. It takes me 30 seconds, 10 seconds to twist a cube and have the right result /I want. If it does not work for me in the art world, I could win my life by doing Rubix Cube championship.
