Baby Discipline

Kimberley Clayton Blaine: Is there really such thing as baby discipline? Of course, there is. Discipline means to guide. So when this little guy gets into trouble, we are going to come in and gently let him know, what's okay and what's not okay.

We want to redirect. Yes, I know, this is not for babies. We don't want to use the term "no" too much, we want to say that for when he is going for a hot cup of coffee. We want to say, "not for babies" but let them know what is for babies.

This is okay. This is for babies. These are okay. Let them know, what's okay to play with. This is not okay, this is okay. These are our coasters, so we don't mind if he plays with them or bashes them around.

I also have magazines that I have already read. He can tear them up and play with them. These are interesting and stimulating. So he won't be too upset that I have taken him away from the danger zone, the fire place. You got to do this a lot but eventually they are going to get it.
