Joe here, we find ourselves on the putting green, right up against, the fringe. What do we do? There's three options, we can either putt, you can either chip it, or you can blade it. If you try to putt it what will happen is, you'll have to make a descending blow, and you are going to end up hitting the ball with the bottom part of the putter, which is an unsolid shot, and it will come out inconsistently. We are not going to putt.
If we try to chip it, the chipping motion is going to be a descending blow, and that's probably going to get hung up in the grass that will come out inconsistently, so we are not going to chip it. The key here is we are going to blade it, and the reason we are going to blade it is because the club head is going to stay right on top of the grass, float along on top of the grass and the leading edge is going to hit the ball right in the belly, and the ball is going to come out like a putt and roll to the hole.
Let me show you how it works. Get setup, lay the club down behind the ball. Setup like you are going to putt, and then make the stroke. That's what I am talking about.
Oh! that's what I am talking about.
