Hi! I'm David Lupberger with servicemagic.com.

On a previous video, I've talked about the importance of keeping gutters and downspouts clean. The next part of this and this is a quick tip is to make sure the water moves away from your foundation once it comes down the downspout. Here's two ways to do it.

This is a splash block. They come in plastic or in concrete. This is a two-foot splash block, make sure the water gets at least two feet away. If you can do work with this, great! If however you've got grass under this, here's another wonderful solution that you can install this extender, there were two little metal screws, put drills in the side of your downspout. Then when you're mowing, fold this up as out of your way but make sure that before it rains, you put that downspout back in place. This keeps the water away from your foundation. It'll keep your basement dry.
