Hi! I'm Bob Schmidt of Home Remodel Workshop. You walk into your bathroom and you notice there's a little moisture around the basic toilet and you notice that there's just a little more rock than it should have. It's time to get this up off the floor and see what's going on underneath it.
We've pulled the toilet up in low and behold we come to find out that the flange is broken. What are we going to do now? This whole piece here is broken off. There is no way this toilet bowl is going to hold the toilet down now.
And this maybe our solution, this is called a spanner flange or a flange repair. The first thing we're going to do is remove the old screws out of the flange. Now, with our spanner flange, we're going to insert the toilet bowl up through it before we screw it down.
Now, you will screw it down using the existing holes. Sometimes you'll have to drill your own holes and redo it because it may not line up perfectly with your existing holes. In that case, you just want to make sure the bolt is centered. New axe are in tight and the bolts down as solid as a rocket, it's ready to go. And you can do this on both sides if you need to.
Oh! Yeah and don't forget to subscribe to all our videos because we have one on installing a toilet that it will help you do that part of the job. Thanks!
