Hi, I'm Bob Schmidt with Home Remodel Workshop. If you're anything like my wife and my videographer, you don't feel comfortable being on a roof at all. There's a simple tool that you might need to grab a hold of before you go up and do that roof work. I'll show you, let's get to work.

Although this is a low-slope roof, it's only a 4-12 or may be a 5-12, I feel very comfortable up here. But some people who don't feel really good about heights and being up on roof, like my wife. She doesn't feel comfortable videoing up here at all. So if you have an old couch cushion or anything with one of these foam pads in it, this stuff up on a roof when you put it down, on the roof, it grips like no other. It's like butt super glue. Once you get on it, you feel as stable as a day is long. If you've ever seen roofers working on a house, you'll see these all over the place. It's not for their butt cushion even though it does kind of work that way if you find yourself up there for a long time. But what it does do is it doesn't slide. It grabs a hold of every little piece of that shingle grip and it just doesn't let you go. So if you find yourself getting rid of a sofa or an old cushion, strip the outside of it off, grab the foam pad out because that could come in handy for you later on when you go to work on your roof.
