Hi! I am Mark Donovan from homeadditionplus.com. Today, we are talking about table saws. There are basically two main types of table saws in the market today. There are your large table saws that are meant for fixed locations such as cabinet table saws or your bench top saws such as what I have here that are meant for portability.

Table saw is a great tool for making large great cuts. However, it has additional features and accessories that enable to make a number of other types of cuts. First of all, the depth of the blade can be adjusted with the table saw by just cranking upwards or downwards. Second of all, you can change the angle of the cut up to 45 degrees to make cuts. Third, table saw includes a crosscut guide that allows you to cut across lumber some of it that you want to do with a circular saw. Finally, an adjustable telescopic fence allows you to adjust the width of the board to join the rip and ensures a nice straight cut.

A table saw is a great tool to own. However, it is a dangerous tool so there are a number of precautions you should take whenever using a table saw. First, always use a push tool either when it comes with this table saw itself or small piece of wood to push through small pieces of lumber through the table slot. This way, we are not loosing a thing. Second, make sure you unplug this off before making any adjustments to it. Third, never remove the blade guard. It is here for a reason. It is here to protect you so make sure you keep it in place. Fourth, never wear loose fitting clothes when operating a table saw. Make sure the sleeves are buttoned up. We do not want any baggy type of clothes on. The table saw can pull your shirt and your arm into it if it catches on the blade. And finally, always wear eye protection and ear protection when using a table saw.

So that is it. A table saw is a great tool to own for a serious carpenter for do it yourself home owner. I recommend getting one. However, keep my advice on the dangers and take the precautions that I outlined earlier.
