This week, I am going to show how to make something burst out of actor's chest. And when I think of doing this effect right, I think of the movie Alien.

This effect was requested by Luxury Entertainment, Sean Harper, Cityscape Pictures, Kickin Chicken, MaroPolo Films, Vicentuchia, Shanti, Spectralvisage, and Larimer Films. That is a lot of people requesting. I cannot let them down.

This week on WEPC TV, we talked to Justin Wet, founder of Monk about how personal computers are changing the music business.

Justine: I think it definitely is. I think if you have an idea. The internet is out there. You can manipulate it. It is very egalitarian. There is really no excuse.

For this bill, we will need to use some old BFX projects like our stunt dummy and blood shutter as well as build three new items.
1. A removable section of fake skin and core, something can burst through.
2. A creature to burst through the skin.
3. A matching creature that can be mounted flash on the actor once the bursting has occurred.

The first step is to take some scrap plastic like this tilt lid and cut out a skin frame. This is basically what it sounds like and gives the skin a nice structure so it predictably tears. For the skin itself, I try a few different things, but ended it up with a three layer approach. The top layer is none quilted paper towels, soap with liquid Latex. This is hot glued to the top side of the skin frame and underneath gets two layers of thin latex sheeting with holes already cut inside. You can use spray pain, makeup and even some fake here to make this fake skin look more real. Cut a hole in the middle of your stunt dummy and tape the inside so the newspaper does not fall out, drawn on a button up shirt and get ready show off some fake skin.

Next step is the creature. Considering this joy of seasons, I choose to make a mutant turkey out of one of those Grabber clock toys. Using hot glues, some latex sheeting, a scrap piece of fader ball, a little bit of foam and spray pain are mutant turkey is born. But remember that you can decorate your monster to be whatever you want. Our repeater our turkey transformation on our matching grabber clock toy except the second one has abandoned it. When it comes to shot day, put your actor a shirt on a dummy a burst away. Then to get a medium shot, take the skin frame off the dummy and put it on your actor then use the flush mountain monster and use your blood shutter generously.
