Bea: There is no question that we all want to soften our impact on the world around us. Everyday we hear about global warming and new threats to our environment. The question is this. What simple changes can we make to our everyday behavior and will actually make a difference. I am checking on one household that just might have some answers. Hi Angela!

Angela: Hi Bea. Welcome!

Bea: Thank you.

Angela: Come on in.

Bea: Like all of us. Angela Lawrence is concerned about the environment with a blended family of four children, a demanding job and a busy life. She wondered whether there was anything meaningful she could do to make a difference.

Angela: Our family decided to look at small changes we could do. It is not like we could put a windmill up in the backyard or somebody stop driving our van, but we quickly realize that small changes can really add up.

Bea: You would not find any plastic shopping bags in this house. they have also pulled the plug on inefficient lighting and in the laundry room there is definitely a green theme.

Angela: We seem to have laundry to do everyday. We use to do one small load in the morning, another small load at night but now we wate till we have a full load and we wash them in cold water. Doing one or two full loads instead of several small once really saves water and energy.

Bea: This family also looks for alter concentrated detergents. Providing concentrated cleaning power in a smaller package, less packaging, less waste, less waste.

Angela: We are really careful about the products we use but we still want our clothes to look and smell great. Gone are the days when environmentally friendly product meant sacrificing stain fighting power, scent and price.
