Laying vinyl planks over 1960's era mosaic floor tiles
More than anything else in the world i'd love to change the floor in my 1965 bathroom.
The original floor seems to be ceramic mosaic squares over approximately 3" of concrete.
I DO NOT want to remove that floor - simply to cover it with vinyl.
What would be the best method to produce a smooth subfloor?
Is there such a thing as a cement slurry that could be squeegeed over the mosaic?
Thanks in advance

Some videos I have seen say it can go over a tile. Since the vinyl planks are a half inch or more thick I can't imagine grout line recess would be a problem but I could be wrong. Or is there another problem other than the grout joints?

You will want to skim the tile with a debossing layer to make it smooth. Look in the flooring section for cementatious compounds designed for this.
