Bard Outside Unit Wont Run

Hello-having A Problem W/my Bard Outside Coil. It Gets Power When Tstat Is Set To Cool But Fan Doesnt Turn & Unit Gets Louder & Hotter. Any Ideas? Thanks

Make sure with power off that the outdoor fan spins freely when pushed with a stick or something. If so, the bearings are good. If not, you can look for oil holes and lube the motor but it is probably history. The other possibility is a bad capacitor on the outdoor fan or a bad motor winding. The capacitor is not too easy to check without a tester unless it is bulged and obviously bad. It is NOT a good idea to continue to run the unit this way. The pressure will be extremely high and it is hard on the compressor. Fix it right away.
