portable AC units

Hey,
Im lookin to get a unit for my room which is about 340 sq. ft. and has casement windows. i was wondering if there is a type (portable or window) which u recommend. Ive read that most portables are also dehumidifiers which would be very beneficial in this room. I was also told that a portable 10,000 btu unit is really equivalent to a 5,000 btu window unit.

Also what size of each would you recommend
thanks,
birch

Wink

BTU's are btu's. You might look at Comfort-Air they have window AC units for casement window. Say a 10,000 btu for 490 sq ft. The portable air conditioners come 7,500 for 325sq ft and 11,000 btu for 550 sq ft.
Thats what their paper's say. You can say all AC units are dehumidifiers

window units are dehumidifiers too

don't you have to exaust condenser air from that portable unit?

i would go with a window unit or through the wall (hotel type) a/c
