HELP! Central AC shutoff confusion
Hello
My new townhouse had central AC installed shortly before I moved in. ALthough I shut off the system through the thermostat, there was still air blowing through the ceiling vents (yes, I tried both off and auto). BTW, the AC system is separate from the heat. system. I then received a very expensive first electric bill! I pulled out a turn off switch on the outside condenser but air still blew out. The only way I stopped the air was to shut the circuit breakers for the unit off. The air ceased and my electric bill was reasonable. I do know that a friend of the previous owners installed the unit and I have no paperwork related to the installation, only a paper that came with the condenser. Was it installed in a faulty way? Am I doing something wrong? I've never had central AC before.
Thanks, I appreciate any help on this!

Pull R wire off the tstat for AC does that stop it? in the blower coil unit inside open the blower door should have a wire schermatic there check it out.
