Moving the A/C compressors unit

I have 2 A/C compressor units outside and the main blower units are in the basement and the attic. When I raised the level of the yard the compressor units kind of got buried. i.e. they are sitting in a 1 feet deep area of the yard. I need to disconnect them, move them, fill in some soil to bring it up the level as the rest of the yard, then connect them back. The problem is the copper pipe that is connected between the compressors and the main units. They are so rigid the there is no play and I would definitely snap ot damage them try to force them to move. I got estimates ranging from $600 to $800 to disconnect and reconnect. I believe the gas has to be pumped out and back in.

Any suggestions on how I can get this done without spending so much?

Thanks,
