A/C unit

I just have a question. I am installing my own a/c/ unit. I need to know when I am installing the unit on the furnace. The unit seems like its to close to the heat part of the furnace. can it be to close?

The A coil should slide right on top of the furnace there.

A/C install

Yes it can be too close. Most manufacturers specify 6-8" between the drain pan & the heat exchanger. If the furnace is oil fired & one is availabe, install a metal drain pan under the A coil.
