I have a hot water system in my home for heating. I was wondering if it is possible to add a central air unit with an air handler and flex duct in the attic so it would be possilble to supply the main level of my home with cooled air. I've checked google and can't find anything that would support my idea. Any help would be greatly appreciated. :wall:

Apologies is this has been discussed before - I couldn't find a search tool for the forum. I'm wondering if I could conceivably install my own duct work to save some ca$h. I realize there needs to be a lot of care taken with the sizes of ducts so the air is distributed properly, etc. But, if I knew what size ducts to use and when to slim down closer the end of each line, would I be saving any money? I have a ranch-style home with lots of space in the attic. It seems that the quotes I've been receiving to have a full system installed are nearly double what they'd be if I already had the ducts in place. Thanks.
