AC Gushes water when turns off

My AC runs off a thermostat, and lately when it shuts off I hear water gushing out - and it has been leaking out all over the floor.

I'm not sure if there is a clog in the drain pipe forcing the water to overflow or if it is so much water gushing out that the pipe can't handle it and it overflows.

I'm kind of thinking it's an caused by excessive water flow. Any idea what would cause excessive water to rush out when unit shuts off?

I have a clogged drain line...

I'm no expert (I'm just learning). Our unit drains between a quart and a half gallon each time it shuts off. In the past 24 hours, it's probably drained about 6 gallons. Don't know if that is excessive, but it (the A/C) is working. It's over 110 degrees yesterday & today with the heat index.

Good luck to you on your issues.
