AC not cooling all the time
Hello !
I have a Rheem AC , eleven yo , here in Florida , and now I have a problem , indoor unit is running ok and after few hours is blowing hot air , I check the coils and they are not wet as usual , everything is dry , even the drain pan . I turn off the termostat for 2 hours , after that work ok few hours and than not cooling but blowing . I check on the roof unit (condo) and it has a little buzzing and a noise when the fan want to start and it fails , it makes like fifteen times and then it starts . I call a tech and he told me there is not enough freon , and he fill it up . After 10 hours I do have the same problem . I wait for you advice ( the tech told me that I need to buy a new system and he advice me of Gibson , I told him about the fan start problem on the roof and he did not went to check , he ssays is the freon ??)

The tech came today and fix it . It was the compressor contactor on the roof . Now works , after a week without AC . Katrina hit us pretty bad here in South , we feel it like a category 3 to 4 hurricane , not like a category one . Now is gone and my ac working .

Down here you might want to bug spray the outside AC unit now and then . Ants the main ones but other bugs also get into the AC contactor points and screw them up
