How to locate Fan Starting Capacitor?
By reading other posts, it seems that the problem I am having with my 13-year old Trane XE-900 (Weatherton) Heat Pump is with the Fan Starting Capacitor.
The outside compressor fan ONLY starts after I give the blades a little push with a stick. However, it seems they are turning slower than normal, and completely stop turning after a couple hours of cooling.
I am ready to replace the fan capacitor to fix this problem, however, I have no idea how to locate it inside the unit. What do I look for? Also, how do I discharge the capacitor?
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

First check out this site so you know what you are looking for http://www.yorkcapacitor.com/products-motor%20run.html
and then simply trace the wires from the fan motor back untill they tie into one and replace it with a matching microfarad rated unit.
