Compressor tripping circuit breaker

I recently had my compressor unit outside replaced. Shortly after this replacement my 24V converter went bad so that was switched out as well. Now everytime I switch on the thermostat, the compressor makes a sound like it is going to turn on but the fan does not come on and the breaker is tripped. Any suggestions as to what the problem might be??

It was working fine?

The unit was recently installed but was working fine for a few weeks. Could this still be a wiring issue? Thanks for the help.

Yeah if it's a few weeks old, get someone to look at it.. Otherwise, if you mess with it, will void the warranity.

Smile Circuit Breaker????

I, too, have had a circuit breaker problem with the outside unit. My A/C is a LENNOX Heat Pump about five years old. The 30 A circuit breaker kept shutting off. I think the problem was the circuit breaker but time will tell. We have had many quick off-on power failures. I called the electric provider who checked all lines and their equipment and found no problem. The A/C repairman then checked my outside unit. On starting its amperage pull was far less that the 30 amp breaker. All electric wires and connections were tight and clean. The problem continued. I just replaced the breaker and for the last few days, the problem appears to be fixed. We will see.
