About 4,000 to 5,000 BTU.

Will this cool other area as well, or just at night with the doors closed?

This is for a bed room at nite with door closed. Could u suggest a good brand ? Should I run a new elec line for the a/c so it will be on a line by itself?

There's alot of them out there, and I think they are pretty much the same.. I used to have a Maytag one from Home Depot, and was very happy with it.

Check on your breaker what the amp is for that plug, most of the time you are able to get buy with it. Unless the plugs are shared with other major appliances.

re

i am the window wizzard LOL i have used alot of name brand window a/c units over the yrs. the best window unit i have came across hands down was the sears kenmore high seer enery efficient. the digital ones will come on like a furnace they dont stay on all day or night they only come on when needed. say u set it to 70 degrees when the unit brings it down to that temp it shuts off.thus saving energy = smaller light bills. i kid u not i hade a new 5000btu window air amana in my bedroom only ran it at night. it cost more to run then the 17,500 btu sears kenmore did and that unit is 220 volt. and it cools most the house and only costed about 40 extra a month on the light bill. and it runs all day and night as it needs to like a furnace.

I used to have a Kenmore when I first moved on my own It did great, but the only thing I didn't like about the auto on and off, at night it the air get kinda stail, and I had to get up and turn it down to get air movement.
